EAA 837 Minutes of March 17th, 2004, Meeting
Meeting called to order by President Steve Conant.
Minutes of the annual Banquet, February 21, 2004, were read and amended
to include "the sugar was a gift from The Amalgamated Sugar Co., LLC.

Treasurer's Report by Cheryl Cruson: Checking account: $2,615.00
All bills from the banquet have been paid.
New Business:
Alan Daniels described the new airport sign including the note "from EAA
837".
From Bob Miller at Moses Lake: An air show with aerobatics to be held
at Ephrata, Washington, in April.
Cheryl Cruson asked the whereabouts of the Chapter by-laws.
Cheryl displayed the 12 embroidered aprons donated by Helene Kyle.
The FAA and Alan Daniels, airport manager, have received complaints from
a lady who lives under the flight path of runway 32. Alan explained the
airport's noise abatement departure from runway 32. Aircraft are to
maintain runway heading until 500 ft. AGL before making turns. Avoid
gray two-story house.
Phil Boyer, President of AOPA, was at the meeting in Boise March 11th
with 270 in attendance. His talk covered many topics interesting to our
pilots including saving airports, backcountry flying and sport pilot/LSA
rules. He said a study of accidents revealed that they cannot be
attributed to health problems.
Alan Daniels stressed safety measures in relation to static electricity
combined with gasoline or paint fumes. He recommended use of grounding
and spraying with "Static Guard".
Program: Kathi Zehr of Just Aircraft located at 1904 E. Chicago Street,
Caldwell, Idaho, told of the development and testing of their current
product, the "Escapade". The plane is a two place (side-by-side), has a
44" cockpit, tail-dragger or tri-gear, quick wing fold, choice of
engines 80 to 120 HP, short take-off and landing with large baggage
capacity. The "Escapade" has been tested and meets UK's BCAR section S
for Europe's microlight category and meets US experimental and proposed
light sport aircraft rules.
